Casey the Caribou was separated from the herd during the 1,000-mile fall migration from the Arctic tundra to a grazing range deep in the taiga. In fact, Casey accidentally traveled too far and ended up in another biome! Help Casey survive with our Evolution and Ecology lesson as students create adaptations for Casey to survive in a new environment. Use camouflage and other adaptations to help Casey survive!
WHAT'S INCLUDED in this 1-2 DAY LESSON:
• 6 NON-EDITABLE PDF handouts with caribou template, story/comic/winter fun templates and T-Chart.
STUDENTS WILL:

• Create a T-Chart of new adaptations for Casey and how they will help Casey survive in a different environment
• Choose from a drawing or writing activity to SHOW how their adaptations help Casey survive
• Cut out and decorate an additional caribou from card stock that they can parade around school as an extra special treat!
